1/2/10

So today was Intro to Depth of Field Day.  Yesterday, I kept the settings on fully automatic, but today, I wanted to see what I could do by playing around with some of the more creative settings. My homework in the evenings has been to study up on manipulating zoom, aperture, and shutter speed.  These are all things I'd like to explore more as I continue--I'll definitely need more practice.  For now, I'm content to have an object in the foreground that is sharply focused, with the background softly blurred.  It's pretty safe to say that I'll likely have more photos along these lines to showcase my new-found knowledge of depth of field!

What you're actually seeing here is a sculpture from the walkway behind the Medical School building on FSU campus.  The Nobel laureates from FSU's faculty are featured here, and I'm pretty sure this one is Dirac.
